Is there a charge for enrolling into classes?
CORE Training courses are free of charge to UCLA Health employees. Participants should request supervisor approval prior to enrolling.
How do I enroll?
Review our course catalog under Browse Courses. Information about requirements for enrollment, course benefits, and course learning outcomes are noted. From the course description page, you can view class dates/times and then submit an online enrollment request if you are ready to enroll. Enrollment requests are processed within one-business day. Class enrollment is subject to availability.
Do you offer parking?
The closest UCLA parking structures are lot 32 and lot 36 that are subject to UCLA parking permit policies.
Blue parking permit holders may park in lots 32 or 36 free of charge.
Courtesy parking passes are available to staff traveling from outside of Westwood campus who are employed at non-Westwood facilities such as Santa Monica, Century Boulevard, or West Los Angeles areas. To receive a CORE courtesy parking pass, make arrangements to come by the CORE Training office prior to your scheduled training. Visit our parking page for more information.
Do you offer food during training classes?
Customer Service and Leadership Series Training courses include a light, continental breakfast of pastries and fruit. Coffee is also provided. If you are scheduled for a full day of training you will have an hour for lunch on your own. You may bring a lunch. There is a refrigerator and a microwave available for your use. We encourage you to take advantage of your lunch break and explore the many food options in our area.
What is the dress code policy for training classes?
UCLA Health professional dress standards apply to training. Room temperature may vary so feel free to bring a sweater. You are welcome to wear scrubs, but it is not required.
What if I'm running late?
If you are stuck in traffic, or detained in any way, please call CORE at 310-267-2168 and let us know. If you think you are going to be more than fifteen minutes late, be aware that our classes are closed to participants arriving after fifteen minutes. If you will be significantly late, you would need to reschedule.
How do I cancel a scheduled course?
Please contact CORE Training if you plan to cancel or reschedule a training class. In some cases, we have participants on a waitlist who could occupy a seat if a cancellation was communicated in advance of the training date.
I want to attend the CORE Leadership Series but don't know if I can commit to all three days of training. What should I do?
The CORE Leadership Series course content builds from one class to the other. As such, the modules are meant to be taken as a series of training dates and not individually or out of order. If there is a need to cancel or reschedule individual class dates in a series, please let us know as soon as possible.
